Another busy fall season comes to a close. I certainly want to thank every person out there that thought enough of my work to book a session with me. My season ended with a family, a senior, and a maternity session. I love how diverse this job can be. It truly is a dream come true to continue to capture these images that will live for a lifetime in my client's homes. I wanted to do a quick blog to catch up on my last few sessions. I will continue with my photography project, but I'm taking a little time off to enjoy my family and to hide from the winter weather and how unpredictable it is.
Happy Halloween everyone! What a great week for the letter C. C is for so many things this week. C is for Cousins.
C is for carving.
C is for costumes of cavemen. Errrr caveboy and cavegirl..... Errrrr ok just Pebbles and Bam Bam.
C is for candy and more costumes.
I don't often laugh when my child cries. However, I thought this sad gorilla had the biggest pouty face ever and it was just too cute not to share. This is from the Halloween parade at school. His cousin, G, obviously doesn't share his dislike for the holiday.
The pout heard 'round the world.
C is for just plain cute.
If ever there was a perfect day to take pictures, it was last Sunday. The weather was crisp, but not too chilly. The leaves were falling and the sunlight. Oh the sunlight. It was absolute perfection. I got to meet the M & B family for a fun photo session. Big families are always a good time for me. I get to see everyone's personality and I could just feel the love when they were all together. Especially the little ones. These cousins sure love each other. Happy people make for awesome pictures and I truly appreciate the chance to capture these images.
P.S. I am trying to save some for your gallery, but it's just so hard!
I had the privilege of being asked to capture family shots of the U family and some senior portraits of Gabe and also some of little sister Annie. I am so used to chasing toddlers around that I forget how fun older children can be as well. I had to stop myself short of offering them some goodies from my camera bag for doing so good. HA! I also love when people bring along their pets. Your pet is part of the family and belongs in your pictures. My only regret is not getting a few portraits of Mr. Louis all by himself. I can just picture a great big canvas of him above their mantle. Here are a few highlights.
I got to meet the gorgeous B Family over the past weekend. Mom contacted me after I had a last minute opening. That almost never happens in the fall. I'd say we had a good time getting Miss A to warm up to me. I may have bribed her with candy, but you have to be creative sometimes. Here is a little extended preview from their session.
I thought I would start my own little photography project that might inspire others to do the same. I wanted to take more everyday shots of my kids. So I'm doing a simple project A-Z. I'm hoping to get to it once a week, but we will see how that goes before I completely neglect it. If you happen to have a blog and would like to join me on this fun little journey link to your story in the comments. It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have, just take more pictures.
A is for Apple...
This past weekend we took our once a year trip out of town to a pumpkin and apple orchard. The kids had a good time in the corn maze and there was a petting zoo and lots of photo opportunities. My little lady has never had an apple in her hand before. Her enthusiasm, when we gave her one to keep her occupied for a quick picture, was downright hilarious. It totally shows off her personality and her brother gives her that look all the time. It was nice to take a time out from watching Shrek for the millionth time and get some fresh air.
I really enjoy doing mini sessions because, let's face it, kids don't have the tolerance for a session that lasts much longer than 20 minutes anyways. They can have their picture taken a few times and have just enough of me before going to get that ice cream cone mom and dad promised them. This year the weather was warm and the leaves weren't changing quite as much as I would have liked, but everything went smoothly and I enjoyed hanging out with friends and past clients once again. Thanks to everyone who came out. Here are a few of the highlights.
